AEG Power Solutions Appoints Bob Roos as Vice President of Its Solar Business

AEG Power Solutions announced the appointment of Bob Roos (48) as the new Vice President and General Manager of its Solar Business Unit. In his role Bob Roos is responsible for the worldwide growth strategy of the solar business which includes solar inverters, systems and monitoring tools for solar power plants. His primary tasks include the international expansion especially in Eastern Europe, India and North America, forming strategic partnerships and focusing on the utility scale and large commercial segments.

"We are pleased to have found an experienced manager to pursue our global solar strategy, to reach the ambitious goals we have in this field and to succeed Enrique de la Cruz who regrettably has decided to leave the company for personal reasons", explains Horst Kayser, AEG Power Solutions CEO. "Bob Roos’ time as Managing Director of Ecostream Spain and PV Solutions in Barcelona has given him deep knowledge and first-hand experience of the fast moving global PV solar industry and its challenges and opportunities."

The Solar Business Unit and the Power Controller Business Unit for polysilicon manufacturing are the two pillars of the Renewable Energy Solutions (RES) Segment of AEG PS, which is the most important growth driver of the company.

Bob Roos is a native Dutch. He started his career in 1981, with Ernst & Young initially in the Netherlands. He moved to Barcelona in 1993, where he finally was Director Transaction Advisory Services, responsible for M&A activities in Spain. In 2008 Bob Roos joined Ecostream Spain, which became PV Solutions, as Managing Director.

The appointment as Vice President and General Manager of the Solar Business Unit is effective immediately.
