Zetex Introduces New ZUMD70-04 and ZMS2800 Schottky Barrier Diodes

January 23, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Zetex Inc. (Commack, NY) recently introduced a range of Schottky barrier diodes designed to save up to 60 percent space over comparable SOT-23 devices. The diodes are designed to offer excellent fast-switching performance in the miniature SOT-323 and SOD-323 packages.

According to Zetex, breakdown voltage is as high as 70V for the ZUMD70-04 and ZMS2800 parts, at Ir of 10uA. Power dissipation at 25 degrees C is 250mW for the SOD-323 devices and 330mW for the SOT-323. The devices feature a low forward voltage, specified as 410mV(max) at a current of 1mA across the range, with the exception of the ZUMD54C, which is quoted as 320mV. Capacitance is also designed to be as low as 1MHz for the ZMS2800 part.

In quantities of 10,000, pricing for the devices ranges from $0.35 to $0.80 each.
