Welwyn Components Intros WA80Z Series Resistors

Using a "Z" lead configuration to enable high power axial resistors to be surface-mountable Welwyn Components Ltd. (UK) introduced its WA80Z Series high-power, flame-proof, surface-mount resistors for automotive applications such as water pump control and advanced braking systems. The WA80Z resistors exhibit pulse-handling characteristics and power ratings up to 5 W, and feature high power ratings, overload capabilities and safe fusing operation.

The WA80Z Series is available in 2 W, 3 W and 5 W ratings, with values from 10 milliohms to 6.8 kiloohms, and tolerances to 1 percent. Meeting the automotive temperature range of –55 °C to +155 °C, the WA80Z Series can be customized for specific fusing or pulse-handling characteristics.
