VPT Introduces New EMI Filter Modules To Comply With Military Standards

March 12, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

VPT Inc. announced that it has added two new EMI filters to its new COTS product line – the VPT series. The new VPTF10-28 (10A) and VPTF20-28 (20A) filter modules provide compliance to MIL-STD-461 C/D/E for conducted emissions in military and avionics dc-dc power systems.

Both new filters are said to satisfy the US Department of Defense’s "Commercial-off-the-Shelf" directive in terms of low cost, high performance, and satisfaction of stringent military and avionics industry requirements. Specifically intended for use in harsh environments with extreme shock, vibration, and temperature cycling, the new filters feature: up to 20A maximum current; up to 300W output power; a wide input voltage range – 0 to 50V per MIL-STD-704, 28V nominal; manufactured to J-STD-001, ISO9001, and IPC-A-610; operation over a wide -55 to +100°C; six-sided rugged metal enclosure; 45dB minimum attenuation at 500 kHz; high input transient voltage – 80V for 1 sec per MIL-STD-704A; meets MIL-STD-461C/D/E conducted emissions requirements; and protects against conducted susceptibility specified in MIL-STD-461C, CS01 and CS02.

Pricing begins at $198.00 in OEM quantities.
