Vishay Intros 14 New TSOP3xxxx Receiver Modules
Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) added to its family of multi-function IR receiver modules for the remote control market with 14 new devices that provide high immunity to ambient light disturbances while operating over a distance of 35m (114.8ft) on supply voltages as low as 2.7V.
The new TSOP3xxxx receiver modules combine a PIN diode and preamplifier in a single package measuring just 6.95mm x 6mm with a height profile of 5.6mm, allowing designers to develop highly integrated, space-saving IR remote control systems for end products, including toys, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, and other battery-powered, remote-controlled products.
The module's epoxy package doubles as an IR filter, while integrated automatic gain control circuitry suppresses all kinds of light-source disturbances. Internal metal shielding protects against electrical field disturbances, and an internal band filter allows PCM frequency operation. The new receiver modules are specified for a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and serve as the standard receiver in remote controls with a 3V voltage supply.
Samples and production quantities of the new TSOP3xxxx receiver modules are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for US delivery in 100,000-piece quantities starts at $40 per 100 pieces.
