Vishay Adds Four New IHLP Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the release of four new low-profile, high-current inductors that feature high maximum frequencies and low inductance values. The IHLP-1616AB-11 and IHLP-1616BZ-11 inductors offer a maximum frequency of 1.0MHz, while the IHLP-1616AB-01 and IHLP-1616BZ-01 feature a maximum frequency of 5.0MHz. The inductance range for this new series is from 0.047 to 4.7µH.

Offering what the company claims are the lowest DCR/µH for their respective package sizes, the new IHLP inductors serve as high-performing, space- and power-saving solutions for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc applications such as point-of-load converters, distributed power systems, and voltage regulation for FPGAs.

Target end products for the devices include next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive navigation and multimedia entertainment systems. Other applications include medium- to high- current noise filtering and dc-to-dc boost converters for white LED driver circuits.

All four devices feature compact dimensions of 0.160" x 0.175," and occupy the new 1616 footprint. The IHLP-1616AB-01 and IHLP-1616AB-11 inductors offer very low height profiles of 0.047," and the IHLP-1616BZ-01 and IHLP-1616BZ-11 inductors offer low profiles of 0.079."

The new inductors handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Their shielded, composite construction is RoHS-compliant and 100% lead (Pb)-free. The new devices are specified for an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. Samples and production quantities of the new inductors are available now, with lead times of six to eight weeks for large orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery only in 10,000-piece quantities is $0.56 per piece.
