Vertilas Presents VL-1550 Series Diode Chips

Vertilas GmbH (Germany) presented its new VL-1550 Series of uncooled vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) diode chips, which are designed for use in Gigabit Ethernet, fiber channel, and CWDM transceiver modules and systems. Emitting light at 1,550nm wavelengths, the vertical cavity structure of the product is employed to obtain high threshold and operating current and modulation performance. The product operates between the -20°C to +70°C temperature range, and is priced at $424 for the TO-46 package, and $678 for the TO-46 package with a big tail fiber.
