the Megaverter Model MV48-5

RO Associates Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) recently announced the release of the 400W, 48V input, 5V output, high density dc/dc converter module the Megaverter Model MV48-5. The modules convert 48Vdc (36-75Vdc) to 5Vdc up to 400W in the low profile industry standard brick package of 0.5 x 2.4 x 4.6 inches. The MV48-5 produces 5V at an efficiency up to 87 percent depending on input voltage and load current, affording a high power density of 72W per cubic inch. The MV48-5 modules operate at full power over the -40 degrees C to +100 degrees C range. They are also designed to run at a fixed frequency and are parallelable with current sharing for n+m redundancy. Other features of the device include non-shutdown over-voltage protection, logic on/off, current limiting, and over-temperature shutdown at 105 degrees C. The output voltage can be externally trimmed -20 percent to +10 percent and the units meet input to output isolation of 3,000Vdc. The modules are also UL/CSA/TUV compliant. Individually, pricing for the MV48-5 module will be $250 each, and in quantities of 100, pricing will be from $225 each. Stock samples are currently available.
