Technology Dynamics Introduces New TCP-1KW PFC Series Switcher

February 19, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

The applied power conversion division of Technology Dynamics (Bergenfield, NJ) has introduced the TCP-1KW PFC series switcher, which provides 1,000W with power-factor correction at a 24V or 48V output for telecom, computer, process control, medical and networking applications.

Features include line regulation of 0.3 percent; load regulation of 2 percent; a 10 percent voltage-adjustment range; and protection against over-voltage, overload and over-temperature conditions. The switcher also provides for remote on/off. Options include universal input (90Vac to 264Vac); ruggedization against shock and vibration; low-voltage battery disconnect; and hot-swap, fault-tolerant, redundant operation.

The supplies come with a dc-operated ball-bearing fan and are rated for operation over -30 to 65 degrees C. They undergo a 100 percent full-load burn-in test, and most models have full agency approval. The supplies measure 3" x 5" x 11.5" and are priced at $550 apiece in OEM quantities.
