TDK Innoveta Expands Supereta iQM Series Converters

TDK Innoveta Inc. (Plano, TX) expanded its Supereta iQM Series to include 12 V/18 A (216 W) and 5 V/35 A (175 W) output models. The industry-standard, quarter-brick dc-dc converters combine performance and thermal management to offer industry-leading output power for use in telecom, datacom, server, storage or Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture systems.

The insulated metal-substrate-based design allows the Supereta iQM Series to achieve thermal performance with low device junction temperature. The power semiconductor devices, filter capacitors and magnetic components are directly soldered to the insulated metal substrate board, which allows low component temperature rise and better performance repeatability while eliminating hot spots. As a result, the Supereta iQM Series offers usable power and high reliability in a tough environment. A 12 V/18 A model provides 13 A at 60 °C, 300 LFM, and the 5 V/35 A model provides 30 A at 60 °C, 300 LFM, without a heatsink.

Other full-production products in the Supereta iQM Series include 3.3 V/50 A, 3.3 V/35 A, 2.5 V/50 A, 2.5 V/40 A, 1.8 V/60 A, 1.5 V/60 A, 1.2 V/60 A, 12 V/17 A and 5 V/33 A. Newer products in the line include 2.5 V/60 A, 1.8 V/70 A, 1.5 V/70 A and 1.2 V/70 A.

The iQM Series is approved to EN60950 for basic insulation and manufactured in an ISO9000-certified facility. The iQM48018A120V (12 V/18 A) and the iQM48035A050V (5 V/35 A) are priced at $85 for 1,000-unit quantities. Samples are available now.
