TDK Innoveta Expands Belleta iQB Series Quarter-Bricks
TDK Innoveta Inc. (Plano, TX) has expanded its Belleta™ iQB Series of quarter-brick dc-dc converters to include a 12 V/12.5 A (150 W) output model, the iQB48012A120V, which is suitable for wireless infrastructure equipment, optical networking gear, and Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture systems, which use a battery plant as an input source.
The new iQB Series 12 V/12.5 A, model offers usable power up to 150 W, and provides a wide input rating of 36 Vdc to 75 Vdc to cover the full telecom battery range. Delivering a tightly regulated 12 V, the converter is suitable to power a wide range of point-of-load and voltage regulator module devices. The tight regulation also ensures additional bus voltage margin to absorb load transients without interrupting the downstream regulators.
Newly developed magnetic components allow efficiencies up to 93% at heavy load. The low power losses are coupled with enhanced thermal design, to achieve usable power in a low-cost, single-board structure. The iQB 12 V/12.5 A model delivers 11 A, 132 W at 65 °C, 200 LFM, and 9.5 A (114 W) at 65 °C, natural convection. As a result, even in tough thermal environments, the new iQB model will replace higher-priced 200 W products that require significant de-rating.
The iQB products employ auto-recovery features to fully protect against input under-voltage, over-temperature, output over-current, and output over-voltage. The iQB Series is approved to EN60950 for basic insulation. The iQB48012A120V (12 V/12.5 A) is priced at $45 for 1,000-unit quantities. Samples are available now.
