January 22, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Tadiran Inc. (Port Washington, NY) introduced the new TLH-2450 lithium thionyl-chloride coin cell designed to withstand high temperatures of up to +125°C. The new battery is suitable for a variety of applications, including automotive tire pressure-monitoring devices and wireless sensors.

The TLH-2450 coin cell features a higher voltage of 3.6V (versus 3V); a higher energy density; low self-discharge; a wide temperature range of –40°C to +125°C; a maximum service life of up to 20 years; a small form factor; and a glass-to-metal hermetical seal. The batteries are ISO 9001 certified and UL-recognized. The batteries are also free of heavy metals.
