SL Power Electronics announced a new family of Power over Ethernet (PoE) line splitters. Marketed under the Ault brand name, the LS15 series is available in three voltages with a power range up to 15W.

Measuring just 3 x 2.1 by 1" (76.2 by 53.3 by 25.4mm) and weighing only 2.05 ounces (58 grams), the LS15 series is described as the industry’s leading small-profile line splitter. In addition, each model is described as being highly efficient, operating at 90% efficiency in the 24V unit.

"The LS15 series offers easy integration of PoE technology in noncompliant devices," said Greg Harris, Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, SL Power Electronics. "High performance coupled with the product’s design, safety standards and reliability make it a popular choice for OEMs across a wide range of markets."

The LS15 family is capable of converting PoE to separate power and data lines, and is ideal for a wide range of commercial applications including IP telephones, wireless network access points, security cameras and IP print servers. It is IEEE 802.3af compliant, and features several important safety features, including full thermal protection, short-circuit and overload protection, input shutdown and surge protection, as well as undervoltage and overvoltage lockout.

The LS15 models are priced in the $25.00 range in OEM quantities.
