SFC Launches New Family of Fuel Cells
SFC Smart Fuel Cell AG announced the new EFOY ("Energy For You") product family of fuel cells — the successor of the Company's successful SFC A50 fuel cell. Now consumers and industry users can select between three fuel cell models with various levels of performance for powering their electrical devices: EFOY 1600, EFOY 1200, and EFOY 600 (with a charging capacity of 1.6 kWh, 1.2 kWh, resp. 0.6 KWh per day). The EFOY family's top model, the EFOY 1600, exhibits a 33 percent increase in power output over its predecessor. Weight, sound emission and fuel consumption of the EFOY product family have been further reduced. With their interactive remote control and improved software the new EFOY fuel cells have become even more user friendly.
"The new EFOY product family is the result of the experiences and ideas of our customers from three years of using our fuel cells in the most diverse applications", says Dr. Jens Mueller, SFC Managing Director Technology. "Now we can offer three fuel cell models with different levels of performance, each of which represents a perfect all-round carefree energy solution for the user." Pieter Bots, SFC Managing Director Sales & Marketing, adds: "By pursuing a consistent innovation process we have now set the stage for the expansion of our fuel cells' exceptional market success. The fact that users can now select which level of performance they want will pave the way into a wide field of applications. At the same time we will continue to open new international markets for our established applications. In this way we are further increasing our competitive advantage in the market."
SFC thinks that the new EFOY product family will further expand the market success of the company's fuel cells in leisure, industry and military applications. SFC fuel cells provide electrical energy for motor homes, sailboats, holiday cabins, traffic control systems, observation applications, measuring and early warning sensors, light electric vehicles and many applications. An SFC product also was the world's first fuel cell to be fitted as standard in a vehicle: the prestigious Hymer "S Class" motor home uses the SFC A50 to provide onboard electricity.
