Sensor supports Cloud-based Monitoring as a Service

September 01, 2015 by Jeff Shepard

Nuvolt Corporation Inc. announces the availability of its new industrial capacity sensor, SmartScan. This is a new addition to Nuvolt's family of electrical sensors. The SmartScan "Clamp-On" sensor provides the ability to monitor large industrial capacity motors and other electrical assets found in heavy industrial applications. SmartScan® is a continuous and real-time electrical network and asset monitoring service. SmartScan provides operations executives the ability to prevent and predict failures and pending anomalies on an electrical network and equipment such as motors, variable speed drives, pumps, compressors, fans, boilers and water heaters, thereby reducing production downtime and mission critical system failures.

"We are excited to be introducing our new high capacity sensor to the industrial market. Our SmartScan monitoring service will now provide wider and deeper predictive insight to our commercial and industrial clients that operate critical electrical component,." stated Mr. Pierre-André Meunier, President and CEO at Nuvolt. “Nuvolt is also pleased to have counted on the support from the Industrial Research Assistance Program provided by the National Research Council (IRAP-NRC) in successfully achieving this innovation milestone,” Mr. Meunier concluded.

SmartScan® cloud based Monitoring as a Service (MaaS) includes: 24/7 expert network monitoring and predictive identification of potential electrical network and equipment malfunctions and failures. Comprehensive reports and recommendations towards preventive and corrective measures. Handheld support through Nuvolt's technical team. Smart energy monitoring and management. And proprietary technology using patented analysis algorithms and correlation models.

Benefits of SmartScan MaaS include: Peace of mind from expert surveillance of the health of electrical network and critical equipment. Predicatively prevent the occurrence of electrical anomalies that may potentially cause equipment malfunctions and failures. Prevent unwanted production downtime and costly business interruption. Increases equipment lifecycle and accuracy and value of preventive maintenance programs. Reduced energy costs by identifying sub-optimal and faulty equipment. Fire prevention by early detection of defective electrical components. And some insurance companies will provide a substantial premium discount upon registration to the SmartScan Monitoring Solution.
