Sensitron Semiconductor Unveils New TVS Modules

May 16, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Sensitron Semiconductor (Deer Park, NY) unveiled its latest TVS , the PHP, PIP and DLZ Series. The new modules are designed for applications from ac power protection to PC board-level data-line protection. These TVS devices are used in applications where extreme voltage transients can permanently damage voltage-sensitive systems or components. They are suitable for use when discrete transient absorption zeners do not have enough power requirements to suppress large power surges.

TVS modules can be used to protect equipment from induced lightning, power surges and transients originating from inductive switching or power interrupt. These modules are used in both commercial and military applications, including telecommunications, central office switching and PABX, CATV distribution, aircraft, shipboard, computers, distributed data processing and power supplies.

For military applications, PHP Series subassemblies are packaged in a hermetically sealed glass-to-metal package, available with design consistency to MIL-PRF-19500. PIP Series subassemblies are packaged in a molded epoxy case. The DLZ Series devices are packaged in a 16-pin dual-in-line package and are available in either unidirectional or bi-directional configurations.
