Schroff Develops the CoolPower DC/DC Converter Series

Schroff UK has developed a new series of dc/dc converters for mounting in 19in subracks. The CoolPower dc/dc (CPDC) Series accepts inputs ranging from 20V to 72V. The units are 6HP wide and deliver an output power of 100W across all input and output diodes. Models providing between one and three output voltages are available, with 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V as standard.

Schroff reports that the overall efficiency of the new series is between 85 and 90 percent. The single version with one output employs active isolation for redundancy operation. This version of the CPDC Series also allows current-sharing operation and provides over-current protection at the input and active-off control.

Schroff also offers dual units, in which the two output voltages can be adjusted to give a symmetrical output of between 11.5V and 15.5V. Another version, a triple module, delivers a power of 50W at the main output and the user is able to take 25W from each of the secondary outputs, which are isolated from the main output.
