Roal Unveils Intelligent Programmable LED Drivers

Efore's recent acquisition, Italian-based ROAL Electronics has launched a new, higher power Intelligent LED Driver series. First introductions were at the Strategies in Light, in Munich and at Luxlive, in London last week. The Ozone 150W series combines smart technology, space and energy savings, and user-managed flexibility into a super compact 150W package. The new Ozone 150W series single channel constant current LED drivers are designed for directly powering LEDs in high power indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures such as street, tunnel, flood, parking lot, industrial and high bay lighting.

Electrical specifications include: Universal inputs 120V/240V/277VAC; Typical efficiency of 93%; Active PFC > 0.9; THD < 20%; Single channel constant current output; Worldwide safety approvals; 6KV Surge protection. Control features and capabilities include: Field programmable output set point (using Ozone Programming Tool); 0 – 10V or 1 – 10V standard dimming controls; DALI ready (IEC 62386); PWM ready; Adjustable dimming function; Temperature protection for LEDs (by NTC); Fade time setting ;Constant light function; and Output dimming linear or PWM selectable

Ozone integrates many intelligent functions, such as adjustable dimming, soft start and constant light feature, plus complimentary software and user friendly programming tools that may be used to set all of the driver's features. A dedicated case accessory enables the unit to be used in remote gear applications. First samples will be ready in December for OEM customers. The family will be released to distribution beginning in Q2/2014.
