RichTek Technology Debuts RT9241 DC/DC Controller
RichTek Technology Corp. (Taiwan) announced its new RT9241 dc/dc controller, designed for CPU core power supply applications, which drives two synchronous switching stages in parallel while operating in 180-degree phase-shift.
The two-phase architecture provides a high-output current while maintaining a power dissipation of 0.625W. Current sharing between power stages is achieved by a differential input-current sense and processing circuit. The RT9241 integrates five-bit digital-to-analog converters, providing 1.1V to 1.85V (25mV/step) output reference with load-current droop compensation to meet VRM transient requirements. The chip also monitors the VCORE voltage for power-good signal and over-voltage protection. It also features soft-start, over-current protection and programmable under-voltage lockout.
The device operates from a 6V supply voltage and is shipped in a SOP-20 housing.
