Powercube Debuts QED Series DC/DC Converters

November 27, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Powercube (Chatsworth, CA) announced the new QED Series of microprocessor-controlled, single-board dc/dc converters that now feature an integrated baseplate and heatsink option, enabling the devices to support applications that require enhanced thermal performance, and providing efficient cooling during operation while eliminating the need for a fan.

The converters deliver >90 percent efficiency and achieve low-loss power conversion via advanced synchronous rectification and integrated, planar magnetic technology. The internal microprocessor enables them to maintain consistency, accuracy and effectiveness under any fault condition.

The dc/dc converters come in 48V models that operate from 36Vdc to 75Vdc inputs, while 24V models accept 18Vdc to 36Vdc inputs. They provide output currents up to 30A; the output range is from 1.5V to 28V, which can be adjusted -20 percent to +10 percent using the trim pin.
