November 05, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Potrans Electrical Corp. (Irvine, CA) introduced its UP07231240 external switching power supply, designed for the increasing demand for printers and battery-charging devices for OEM customers. The UP07231240 delivers 72W of power with increased reliability and stability and its universal ac-input range eliminates the need for a voltage switch.

The efficiency of the UP07231240 is a minimum of 82 percent under full load. A fuse with a rating of 3.15A/250V is installed on the input line side near the input connector to provide protection to the power supply. The unit has active protection to prevent damage to product or user loads under short-circuit, overload and over-voltage conditions. The power supply will withstand the hi-pot test without breakdown and it has a calculated mean time between failures greater than 50,000 hours.

Measuring 5.24in x 2.32in x 1.32in, the power supply is slim and stylish. The available voltage is 24V at 3A. The UP07231240 meets FCC Class B and complies with the radiated and conducted emission requirements of CISPR 22 Class B. Pricing is competitive. Samples are available upon request.
