ON Semiconductor Intros Six New 10V Schottkys

December 11, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

ON Semiconductor (Phoenix, AZ) announced the introduction of six 10V Schottky power rectifiers. The MBRM110E/L, MBRA210E/L and MBRS410E/L are all low forward-voltage Schottky rectifiers in space-saving surface-mount packaging. Applications for these 1A, 2A and 4A diodes include portable and wireless systems, computers, printers, battery management and protection, power supplies, and communications systems.

ON offers each of the 10V devices in both an E (low leakage current) and an L (low forward-voltage drop) configuration. The E versions are engineered for optimal tradeoff between low forward voltage and low leakage current. The L versions boast low forward-voltage ratings for reduced conduction losses. For the MBRS410LT3, the forward voltage is guaranteed at 0.225V maximum at 4A.

"In the standard component arena, ON Semiconductor is the only manufacturer currently offering 10V Schottkys," said Chris Holly, ON Semiconductor project manager for rectifiers. "Competitive devices can only offer 15V or 20V and can be used in 10V applications. ON Semiconductor's new 10V Schottkys provide a superior alternative by providing a significantly lower forward-voltage drop that delivers increased circuit efficiencies."

Pricing is $0.12 per unit in 12,000-unit quantities. The MBRA210 is featured in a SMA package and is priced at $0.13 per unit in 10,000-unit quantities. The MBRS410's packaging is SMC and is priced at $0.49 per unit in 10,000-unit quantities.
