NetPower Offers New HPS Series Half Bricks

New Products Jun 13, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

NetPower Technologies Inc. (Plano, TX) announced the new HPS Series of isolated dc-dc converters, which deliver up to 100 A of current in standard half-brick packages. The converters feature ultra-high efficiencies (94% at 20 A/15 Vout and 30 A/12 Vout). The converters are designed for an input-voltage range of 36 V to 75 V, and they meet the input-voltage transient requirement of 100 V for 100 mS, and the basic insulation requirements of EN60950.

The HPS Series is available in output voltages ranging from 0.8 V to 15 V, with 100 A output at the lower voltages, and up to 360 W output at the higher voltages. In addition, the converters with an output current of 60 A or higher have an option for dual-output pins. Primary-side, current-sharing control is also available as an option. The HPS Series can be ordered with an optional baseplate to enhance the thermal performance for operation in harsh environment. The open-frame version of the converter is 0.37 in (9.6 mm) in height, and the baseplate version has a height of 0.5 in (12.7 mm).

In quantities of 1,000 pieces, the HPS Series is priced at $85. Samples are available.
