Microsemi Launches FST8320/FST84100 Schottkys

February 18, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA), a manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and power management integrated circuits, launched a new family of high-efficiency, 80 A, Schottky barrier devices featuring compact TO247 packaging. The new TO247 Schottky family enters the market with two versions: the low forward-voltage drop FST8320™ rated at 20 V, and the ultra-low reverse leakage FST84100&rade; rated at 100 V. The new devices also are available in voltage ranges from 15 V to 180 V, upon request.

The FST8320 operates at a junction temperature of up to 105 °C and has a maximum forward-voltage drop of 430 mV at 25 °C. The FST8320 is suitable for 10 V output rectification and OR’ing applications of up to 15 V. For applications up to 100 V, the FST 84100 utilizes high-voltage Schottky technology to reduce reverse leakage by 90 percent, while maintaining low forward-voltage drop operation.

Pricing in 5,000-unit to 10,000-unit quantities is $2.25 for the FST8320, and $2.50 in like quantities for the FST84100. Both devices are in volume production, with samples available from stock.
