July 15, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Micro Linear Corp. (San Jose, CA) announced its entrance into the personal handyphone system (PHS) market with its new ML1900 single-chip, low-IF, PHS transceiver, the first in a family of transceivers that Micro Linear will be introducing for the PHS market. The company has been working closely with several of the largest PHS handset original equipment manufacturers to develop this family of products.

The ML1900 provides a comprehensive radio solution for PHS phones, including receiver, transmitter and synthesizer functionality without the need for external filters. Micro Linear's advanced low-IF receiver architecture and experience in Silicon Germanium BiCMOS process technology has been applied and adapted to satisfy current and future PHS system requirements in a highly integrated, low-cost integrated circuit.
