Micrel Semiconductor Introduces the MIC2755

March 26, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

The MIC2755 from Micrel Semiconductor Inc. (San Jose, Ca) features multiple voltage monitors and ultra-low quiescent current in a MSOP-08 package. Designed for use in battery-operated portable systems such as PDAs, it detects and reports up to three battery states, provides power-on reset and manual reset capability, and controls the system's power converter to ensure clean system shutdown and restart.

The MIC2755 adjusts trip-voltages and hysteresis by means of external resistors, thereby allowing the user to set any voltage trip-points for any amount of hysteresis. The device's power-supply current is typically 2uA.

All three voltage thresholds are guaranteed accurate to +/- 2 percent over the entire range of operating conditions. In 1,000-piece quantities, the MIC2755 in eight-pin MSOP packaging is priced at $1.30 each.
