Mean Well Launches New Series of DC-DC Converters

April 05, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

MEAN WELL has launched the NSD-10 (10W) and NSD-15 (15W) series on-board type dc-dc converter that expands its dc-dc product lines in the low wattage range for the emerging trend of distributed power applications.

As the replacement model of the previous ASD-10H & ASD-15H series, the new NSD series maintains the same dimension and pin assignment, but is claimed to improve the performance and reduce costs. Featuring a 4:1 wide dc input range and 1500Vdc input/output isolation, the NSD10/15 series both have two kinds of dc input level – 12 & 48V, and eight kinds of dc output level – 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, ±5, ±12, and ±15V for end users to select from.

Standard functions include remote ON/OFF control, short circuit, over load, and over voltage protections. The 15W models also possess an output voltage trimming function that gives users more flexibility to the system design. These products are suitable for applications using distributed power architecture that transfer the high dc bus voltage to lower dc working voltage at the location of the load.
