Maxim Intros MAX1515 PWM DC-DC Converter

New Products Dec 19, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) introduced its MAX1515 constant-off-time, PWM source/sink, step-down dc/dc converter, which is suitable for use as a double data rate regulator, producing an output that is exactly half the memory supply rail.

The device integrates dual, n-channel, 4 mΩ MOSFET switches that source and sink continuous load currents up to 3 A. The output range is adjustable from 0.5 V to 2.7 V with efficiencies as high as 95%. Additionally, the device operates with adjustable switching speeds up to 1 MHz, and in temperatures from -40 C to +85 C.

Available in a 24-pin, TQFN package with an exposed backside pad, prices start at $4.35 each for 1,000-piece quantities.
