Matsushita Launches AN32500A Power Management IC

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. (Osaka, Japan) announced that it has launched a power management AN32500A IC for portable wireless devices based on the Intel PXA210 and Intel PXA250 applications processor. The new IC, which only requires a low supply voltage and operates with a software-controllable voltage management in accordance to CPU performance, is slated for mass production in the third quarter of 2002.

The new IC features a high integration of power control circuits by built-in four-channel regulators, enables a setup output voltage from +0.8V to +1.3V, output voltage can be set between +0.8 and +1.3V, and the maximum output current is 300mA.

Matsushita plans to ship over 100,000 new ICs per month at a sample price of 500 yen.
