Low-Cost Current Sensing with Lower PCB Temps

Stackpole's BR series is a radial leaded thru hole current sense resistor series offering power ratings up to 5 watts. The BR series elevates the resistive element off of the board for maximum cooling into the ambient air and minimizing the amount of heat that must be dealt with at the board level.

The BR is available in 1-, 3-, and 5-Watt power ratings, in values from 5 milliohms to 100 milliohms and in tolerances as low as 1%. This makes the BR well-suited for power management in power supplies, small motors, industrial controls as well as audio applications, robotics, and portable power tools.

Pricing for the BR varies with size, resistance value, and tolerance, and ranges from $0.16 to $0.38 for the most common values and sizes in full package quantities.
