New Products Dec 06, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Lin Engineering Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), a designer and specialist of step motors, introduced its new 208 two-phase hybrid stepper motor, which is suitable for applications in the medical, communications, semiconductor and robotics industries where space is limited.

The 1.8° bipolar Nema 8 miniature step motor measures 0.79 in² and is available in two stack sizes of 1.30 in and 1.69 in (length). Although it weighs 0.13 lbs, it is still capable of up to 4.2 oz-in of holding torque depending on stack size. The 208 is also available with a standard rear shaft extension.
