LEM USA Inc. (Milwaukee, WI) announced the latest addition to its range of dedicated current and voltage transducers for the global railway industry. The HAR 1000-S is the first of a new range of low power consumption, isolated, hall-effect, current transducers. Designed for a nominal primary current of 1000ARMS, the device has a measuring range of 2,500A across the operating temperature of –40 to +70 degrees C.

The key feature of the HAR 1000-S is the compact design and comprehensive testing to meet the Traction Standards of EN50155, and EN50124-1. All of the materials used for this transducer satisfy UL94-V0. The HAR 1000-S also complies with the smoke and fire classification requirements of the traction industry. The HAR 1000-S offers a combination of size, performance, power consumption and cost.
