Kohshin Intros HC-PRX AC/DC Current Sensors

November 19, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Kohshin Electric Corp. (Carrollton, TX) announced its new line of open-loop and closed-loop hall-current sensors, the HC-PRX 3A to 20A and the HC-PRX 25A to 50A ac/dc current sensors, which are suitable for use in inverters, servo drives, uninterruptible power systems and power supplies.

The HC-PRX 3A to 20A and the HC-PRX 25A to 50A ac/dc current sensors have a standard operating temperature range of –10 to +80 degrees C, and feature a 2,500Vac withstand voltage. Potting material is UL94V-0 compliant. The sensors stand 0.5in above the printed circuit board, and offer a small 0.6in x 0.9in footprint. An output accuracy of +1.5 percent and a linearity of +1 percent is offered.

The sensors are offered in product categories of 3A, 5A, 10A and 20A; and 25A, 30A, 40A and 50A. Each type has separate and independent primary windings and output pins, and can be specified to operate from +5V to 15V supplies. An option is available for unipolar operation where the output, normally +2.5V (input current = 0), can be fixed or proportional to the input voltage.

Priced from $9 each in quantities of 1,000, samples are available now.
