IXYS Corp. (Santa Clara, CA), a supplier of high-power semiconductors and modules, introduced the new MX877, MX878, and MX879 family of eight-channel, 60 V switch products by its Micronix Inc. division, a producer of application-specific integrated circuit products for the communications market. The MX877 family accommodates output driver supply voltages from 6 V to 60 V, enabling a wide variety of consumer and industrial control applications.

The MX877 family features 60 V (maximum) outputs that are configured as either push-pull, open-drain pull-down, or open-drain pull-up. Input data may be loaded in either serial or parallel format, and may be read back or controlled through a standard three-wire serial peripheral interface. Multiple devices may be cascaded to support applications where more than eight outputs are required. Additionally, outputs may be paralleled to support increased drive currents. Inputs and control logic operate from 2.7 V to 5.5 V.
