ITFT Presents PowerFilm Solar Module Technology

Iowa Thin Film Technologies Inc. (ITFT, Ames, IA) announced the release of its PowerFilm paper-thin solar technology, which is claimed to be the world's thinnest, lightest and most flexible solar modules. Suitable for integration into portable consumer devices and fabrics, the solar modules can be used both to solar recharge and direct power products. The modules are specifically designed for recharging AA, AAA, cellular phone and PDA batteries.

The PowerFilm solar modules have a paper-thin, durable polymer substrate <0.05mm thick and are monolithically integrated. Additionally, environment-friendly amorphous silicon is the semiconductor absorber layer.
