International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) introduced the new PIIPM15P12D007 servo and motor drive module, rated at 1,200V/15A, which includes the bridge, brake and inverter functions into a single unit. Applications include precision industrial machinery such as assembly robots, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing and semiconductor fabrication.
The PIIPM15P12D007, which expands the iNTERO™ family of motor and servo drive modules, and is a closed-loop control building block for high-performance induction and brushless motor and servo drives. Protection circuits in the new "007" module are designed to disable pulse-width modulation operation, and use a "double path" technique that ensures redundancy and maximum safety. De-saturation, over-voltage and fault protection are enabled by IR’s new IR2214SS high-voltage ICs.
The PIIPM15P12D007 is available immediately. Pricing is $300 each in production volumes.
