Intersil Unveils New Elantec EL810X Op Amp Family

March 16, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Corp. (Irvine, CA) unveiled the initial products in a new family of rail-to-rail operational amplifiers (op amps) tailored for the high-performance, low-power requirements of general-purpose video, communication, instrumentation and industrial applications. The new Elantec EL810X op amp family includes devices with 500MHz of gain bandwidth and slew rates up to 600V/µs, or nearly triple the slew rate of any 500MHz rail-to-rail op amp at — dB. Differential phase and differential gain characteristics are 0.005 degrees and 0.005 percent, respectively.

The EL810X op amps operate from a single 5V power supply and are available with or without a fast-acting, disable/power-down circuit. The EL8100 and EL8101 feature a bandwidth of 200MHz and a slew rate of 200V/µs. The devices operate off of a low 2mA supply current and feature inputs that go to 0.1V below the supply rail. The EL8102 and EL8103 feature a bandwidth of 500MHz and slew rates of 600V/µs. They operate from a low 5.6mA supply current and also feature inputs that go to 0.1V below the power supply rail.

The EL8100 is now available in eight-pin SO and six-pin SOT-23 packages. The EL8101 is available in a five-pin SOT-23 package. Both are priced at $0.69 each in 1,000-unit quantities. The Elantec EL8102 is available in an eight-pin SO package and a six-pin SOT-23 package, and the EL8103 is available in a five-pin SOT-23 package. Both are priced at $1.60 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
