Intersil Holding Introduces New HIP6311 PWM Controller

April 16, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Holding Corporation (Palm Bay, FL) introduced its latest PWM controller integrated chip, the HIP6311. The company claims that the HIP6311 multiphase controller delivers the best static tolerance and digital-to-analog conversion accuracy. When coupled with Intersil's gate drivers, the total core-voltage system for advanced microprocessors is reached.

The device is targeted toward embedded and VRM 9.0 core dc/dc converters for high-performance PCs, workstations and server motherboards employing Intel's next-generation microprocessors. The tighter static regulation gives designers an option of less output capacitance in meeting the total regulation tolerance budget.

The HIP6311 is currently available in a 20-pin SOIC package for $4.95 in 10,000-piece quantities.
