New Products Jan 21, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Haydon Switch and Instrument Inc. (Waterbury, CT) debuted a size 11, captive linear actuator, the latest addition to its growing hybrid motor line. The size 11 actuator is suitable for applications requiring precise positioning and rapid motion. Typical applications include medical equipment, X-Y tables, automation of any kind, valve control and more.

Built for long life (several million cycles) and performance, the actuator features engineering thermoplastics in the rotor drive nut and a stainless steel Acme lead screw. With this patented design, quiet and maintenance-free operation are ensured. The actuator is available in a wide variety of resolutions ranging from 0.000125in (0.003175mm) to 0.002in (0.0508mm) per step, and delivers thrusts of up to 25lbs (11.5kg) without compromising long life or cost.
