Gowanda Debuts SMT35A Inductor Series

November 11, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Gowanda Electronics (Gowanda, NY) announced a new series of surface-mount toroid inductors, the SMT35A Series. The new inductors are suitable for power supply applications where minimization of power losses via smaller-sized components is the goal. The series' high-efficiency core is designed to minimize core losses and enables the inductor to function at a higher frequency.

The new series utilizes a two-in-one construction - a design with two windings on one core - and uses a molypermalloy core to deliver stability over a wide temperature range and performance at higher frequencies.

The SMT35A Series is targeted for use in power supply applications where both high performance and small size are critical for current and future products. The series is ideal for use in high-frequency switch-mode power supply designs, microprocessors and distributed power applications, including power supplies, power regulators and dc/dc converters.

The SMT35A Series features inductance from 0.22µH to 300µH and current ratings from 10.9A to 0.58A for parallel connections, and inductance from 0.88µH to 1,200µH and current ratings from 5.47A to 0.29A for series connections.

Typical pricing for the SMT35A Series is $2.15 each in volume.
