GAIA Converter Announces PGDS-50-O-K Front-End Product

GAIA Converter Inc. (Merignac, France) announced its new PGDS-50-O-K front-end product, which is dedicated to military vehicles to sustain the military specifications of MIL-STD-1275B and complement its family of 50 W power regulators. The PGDS-50-O-K allows enlarging the input voltage from 6 Vdc to 100 Vdc during cranking and transients of vehicle batteries. It is to be used in conjunction with GAIA converter modules with a 9 Vdc to 36 Vdc input range.

The PGDS-50-O-K pre-regulator has four modes of operation; a low line operation down to 6 V/1 S, power fail operation that is below the low line, normal operation in a steady transparency state, and surge up to 100 V/50 msec and spike up to 600 V/20 µsec. The PGDS-50-O-K line of modules is optimized to provide high-power efficiency up to 96% over the whole power range between 4 W and 50 W.
