Fairchild Intros New FAN2534 CMOS LDO

October 17, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced its 150mA low dropout (LDO) regulator, the FAN2534, which optimizes performance and cost in cellular phone applications and is suitable for wireless/RF and frequency-sensitive applications. The new regulator offers high ripple rejection over a wide frequency range, fast turn-on (150µs), low noise (50µVrms) and loop stability with a variety of output capacitor types.

The FAN2534 offers fast turn-on without overshoot, as well as an accurate, trimmed, short-circuit, current limit (300mA) to protect thin PCB interconnects. For lower battery drain, the FAN2534 has 180mV dropout

voltage at 150mA, and provides near-dropout power supply rejection ratio, enable/shutdown control and thermal limiting for additional system safety. The FAN2534 is pin-for-pin compatible with competitive parts and comes in a compact SOT-23, five-lead package. Three

different output options are available for the device: adjustable, 2.6V with bypass and 3.0V with bypass.

Pricing for the FAN2534 is $0.39 for 1,000 pieces. Available now, delivery is eight weeks ARO.
