Epson Singapore Debuts S1F77600 Battery IC

March 09, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Epson Singapore Pte Ltd. (Singapore) debuted its new S1F77600 dry-cell, battery leakage, detection IC, which operates from a 0.8V to 5.5V supply and draws a maximum current of 5µA. Available in a three-pin SOT89 package, the IC detects voltage drops in dry, two-cell batteries from 1.2V to 1.6V with an accuracy of ±3.5 percent. The detector prevents leaks by using a high impedance output signal when the voltage dips below the detection level, preventing further discharge from cell batteries.
