EnerSys Expands Genesis NP VRLA Battery Line

New Products Jul 04, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

The Reserve Power Group of EnerSys Inc. (Reading, PA), formerly Yuasa Inc. (Reading, PA), has expanded its Genesis NP line of valve-regulated, lead-acid (VRLA) batteries up to 100Ah to meet the needs of higher power applications. Genesis NP batteries are suitable for any general-purpose application that requires dc power backup, such as telecommunications, uninterruptible power supplies or switchgear.

The Genesis NP55-12, NP75-12 and NP100-12 batteries use gas recombinant VRLA technology that minimizes gas evolution during charging and discharging, maximizing space utilization by allowing battery installation in cabinets or on stands in a variety of environments. The technology also eliminates the need for watering, reducing maintenance costs.

Nominal capacity for the Genesis NP55-12, NP75-12 and NP100-12 is 50.0Ah, 70.2Ah and 80.6Ah, respectively, at the eight-hour rate to 10.5V at room temperature. Each unit has a nominal voltage of 12V and a float-charge voltage of 13.5V to 13.7V at 25 degrees C. The batteries come with a choice of different terminals for any application.

The new Genesis NP batteries have UL recognition and meet critical industry standards, including IATA, US DOT, FAA and CAA certifications for air transport.

Pricing for the Genesis NP Series starts at $120. Delivery is four weeks ARO.
