Eltek Valere Completes Conversion Of All Flatpack2 DC Power Rectifiers to High Efficiency Technology

New Products Feb 02, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Eltek Valere announced the availability of the Flatpack2 HE 48/3000, a 48V, 3kW rectifier that operates at 96% efficiency. The announcement marks the last of its flagship Flatpack2 rectifier products to be available in an HE version, a process started in 2008 when the company pioneered green dc power systems.

The new Flatpack2 HE 48/3000 rectifier is the highest wattage rectifier in Eltek Valere’s HE family and brings these green solutions to the central office, wireless macrocell base stations and the network core. The rectifier offers 62.5A of current per module, giving it a power density of 33W/in2, a global operating range of up to 300Vac and UL-rated ac range extended to cover an input voltage of up to 277Vac.

The complete HE product line includes the Flatpack2, Compact and Integrated dc power systems, along with both 24 and 48V rectifiers ranging from 1.8 to 3kW, offering carriers the ability to architect a complete HE system of up to 6000A. The systems are supported by Eltek Valere’s Smartpack Controller for monitoring and control, and can be integrated with the company’s solar inverter products in hybrid solar/grid applications.

"Moving the Flatpack2 product family to HE technology was a pioneering effort, and today we can help carriers save power and OPEX in any application," said Morten Schoyen, CMO of Eltek Valere. "Now that we’ve reached this milestone, we’re able to turn more of our attention to helping carriers integrate alternative power into their networks among other ways to cut energy costs and be environmentally friendly."
