Diversified Technologies Intros PowerMod Switch Modules

March 08, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Diversified Technologies Inc. (Bedford, MA) announced an expanded line of solid-state switch modules that are field-proven for use as transmitter modulators in radar systems and as critical components in high-energy physics and semiconductor-fabrication systems.

The new PowerMod solid-state switch modules feature a 99-percent switching efficiency, or 60V drop for a 9kV, 30A module and are immune to arcing, emissions and the other lifetime limiting factors associated with conventional vacuum tubes. The modules are available as 6kV (500kW peak power), 9kV (270kW peak) and 12kV (1MW peak) plates, which can be stacked to achieve the desired voltage. The PowerMod modules provide one million hours predicted reliability per MIL-HDBK-217F, and require only a dc-voltage source and input signal.

Individual modules measure 7in x 7in x 3in and 12in x 12in x 3in. The PowerMod modules are priced from $2,500 each.
