September 04, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Digital Power Corp. (Fremont, CA) released the new UPF300 Series of switching power supplies. The new power supply incorporates active power-factor correction that reduces line harmonic content below the applicable directives required for sale in Europe. Power factor is improved to typically 0.98. The power supply also incorporates universal input, allowing operation from any worldwide ac line voltage.

The UPF300 Series measures only 8in x 4.5in x 2.0in and is designed to power computer, peripheral, office automation, telecommunications and industrial products. It includes an on-board FCC and VDE Class B line filter. Options for the series include a power-fail/power-good signal or cover to provide personal safety and reduce electromagnetic interference.
