DATEL Debuts LSN D12 Series DC/DC Converters

October 16, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

DATEL Inc. (Mansfield, MA) announced its new LSN D12 Series of dc/dc converters for on-board, point-of-load, power processing. The LSN D12 converters are true "plug-and-play" power converters that configure solutions in minutes. The devices are designed with on-board, input/output caps fully rated to handle the necessary input ripple current and fully capable of reducing output noise to specified levels.

The LSN D12 Series converters accept 12V inputs (10.8V to 13.2V input range) and deliver 1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2V, 2.5V, 3.3V or 5V outputs rated at 10A. The 2in x 0.55in x 0.34in (51mm x 14mm x 8.64mm) single-in-line (SIP) packages can be configured in either vertical or horizontal orientations. The former occupies 0.7in²; the latter is 0.34in (8.64mm) high.

The LSN D12 Series converters are up to 96 percent efficient, and require no input/output capacitors to meet specified noise levels. The converters require no EMI filtering as both radiated and conducted emissions are below FCC Part 15 and EN55022 Class B levels, and present no exotic load impedances to the bus converters.

Free sample/evaluation units for qualified OEM’s, and/or pre-production quantities up to 25 pieces, are immediately available from stock. Production quantities require six to eight weeks. The LSN D12 Series SIP power converters are priced at $19.90 each in singles and $11.90 each for 10,000 pieces. 50,000 pieces are priced at $9.95 each.
