Datatronic Offers DR340-X Series of SMT Inductors

August 07, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Datatronic Distribution Inc. (Romoland, CA) introduced its new DR340-X Series of shielded, surface-mount inductors, which feature a profile ranging from 3.4mm to 8mm, and are suitable for use in low-profile, dc/dc converters and switch-mode power supplies in power telecommunications systems, industrial controls and medical instrumentation.

The inductors offer a shielded design to minimize radiated noise. Electrical parameters include an inductance of 1.2mH to 1H, a resistance of 7 milliohm to 1.53 ohms, and a rated current of 0.4A to 9.8A. The inductors also operate from –40 to +85 degrees C. Manufactured using UL 94V-0-compliant materials, the DR340-1, -2 and -3 models measure 12mm x 12mm, with a profile of 8mm, 4.4mm and 4.5mm, respectively. The DR340-4 is available in 7.3mm x 7.3mm x 3.4mm case sizes.

The DR340-X Series are compatible with high-speed, automated, pick-and-place assembly and are available in tube as well as tape-and-reel packaging. Custom inductance values are also available.
