Cherokee Intros QB1448 and HB2048 DC-DC Converters

Cherokee International LLC (Tustin, CA), a manufacturer of switch-mode power supplies, introduced its QB1448 quarter-brick and HB2048 half-brick dc-dc converters, which round out the company's 12 V isolated, intermediate bus converter (IBC) family. Both converters operate under a wide-input range of 36 V to 75 V, fully regulate the output to 12 V, and are available in open-frame or base-plate versions for handling ambient conditions. The products join the previously announced 4:1 narrow-input (42 V to 53 V) CBE eighth-brick and CBQ quarter-brick IBCs.

The new QB1448 quarter brick provides 14 A of dc current at 90% efficiency, and measures 1.45 in x 0.43 in x 2.28 in. The converter is suitable for datacom and DPA applications requiring fast transient response times at high currents.

The HB2048 half brick provides 20 A at 91% efficiency, and measures 2.4 in x 2.42 in x 0.411 in. Active current-sharing capability provides stress balancing and supports increased power demands. The half brick is suitable for ATE, RF amplifiers and wireless applications.

The 25 A, 42 V to 53 V input, CBQ2548 quarter brick is available at $39 for OEM quantities. The 14 A, 42 V to 53 V input, CBE1448 eighth brick is available at $34 for OEM quantities. The 14 A, 36 V to 75 V input,
